I met Silvia a few months prior, in a meeting where she explained all the aspects of the Book 2.0 event “The Future of Reading”, in which I was going to participate as a speaker. From the first moment, Silvia has a way of making you feel at home, simplifying the whole process and making you feel comfortable. When I arrived in Lisbon, I was surprised by the thoughtfulness and care that went into every detail of the event; everything was perfectly organized to make both, attendees and participants, feel welcome. Her ability to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere is exceptional. Silvia is able to turn an event into a memorable experience.

As a speaker at the Book 2.0 conference in Lisbon in September 2025, I can honestly say that this experience would never have been so amazing had it not been for Silvia. From the initial contact, to the pre-conference arrangements, to the arrival in Lisbon (from the US), no detail was missed. The organization of the conference was top-notch, and the speakers and events surrounding the conference were engaging and meaningful. I attended Book 2.0 in Lisbon this year, which Silvia organized and oversaw. It was a terrific event - smart, well-produced, well-paced, media-savvy, a great balance of substance and fun, provocative and informing. Was a real treat to work with Silvia in Lisbon recently for the Estoril Conferences 2022. We only spent a few days together, but it felt like we had known each other for years. Silvia has great energy, is super hard-working and is extremely passionate.

I had the pleasure of interacting with Silvia while she worked at the Conselho da Diaspora and was always impressed by her constantly positive demeanor and infectious smile, her "can do" attitude, her ability to deliver on time and produce high quality work of international caliber. Silvia was in charge of an event I recently attended, at the Champalimaud Foundation. It was exceptional! The venue was thoughtfully correlated to the subject of our conference, the food and drinks were perfectly judged for the speakers and attendees, the staging and audio-visual execution were flawless, and the team's empathy and thoughtfulness demonstrated how well they had been briefed. The whole programme, speakers, event and logistics could not have been improved and it makes me want to attend another event controlled by Silvia!
